the Beachy family

It was only days until we were moving out of state. Six family’s schedules squeezed through the waves of normal summer activities to free one evening for pictures. The further into the afternoon the clock ticked, the grayer the sky turned. We checked the weather radar. I called my sister in law who lived closest to the vineyard. Not raining there … yet. With quavering faith we left the house with the wipers swishing intermittently. Would it work? Twenty minutes later we pulled into the vineyard, hoping everyone would be on time and we’d beat the rain just long enough for one quick family shot. Well, not only did God hold back the rain long enough for a family shot, we were gifted co-operative kids and a few more compositions. So grateful.
For family.
For overcast skies without harsh shadows.
For giggles from grandchildren.
For dry grass.
For God.
